Master Composter Apprentice Program
Application Information

Please read the program description and requirements and the syllabus if you have not already done so.

A link to the application is provided below, but please read all the information on this page before proceeding to the application.

​

Cost of the program is $50. You need not pay this fee until your application is accepted. You will need to pay before your training actually begins. Payment details are below.

​

An application may be submitted at any time. 

​

After you submit your application we will notify you via email (1) when your application is received and (2) when your application has been approved.

​

After you submit your application, if you have not heard from us within 24 hours acknowledging its receipt,  please contact webmaster@nmcomposters.org.

​

Your email address will not be shared with anyone outside the BCEMC. Other information on the application will be shared only with the application review committee.

​

It may take several weeks or longer to process your application and get you connected with a mentor. 

​

When you sign and submit your application, you agree to the following conditions required for the apprenticeship and the volunteer agreement:

 

  • I will make time to interact regularly with my mentor.

  • I will complete all classes, sessions, assignments, final project, and the final assessment as specified in the syllabus.

  • I will comply with the policies of the Bernalillo County Extension Service and NMSU.

  • I will provide my own transportation to and from the meetings required to fulfill the syllabus.

  • After I am accepted, I will print, fill out, and sign the Volunteer Agreement and Photo Release Form and give them to my mentor.

  • Upon completion of the apprenticeship, I will volunteer 10 hours per year (minimum) to help fulfill the mission of the BCEMC.

Payment Details

​

You may pay via PayPal or credit card or you may mail a check payable to BCEMC addressed to: Master Composter Program, BernCo. Extension Office, 1510 Menaul Blvd., Ext. NW, Albuquerque, NM, 87107.

After payment is received, we will notify you (1) when your payment is received and (2) when you have been paired with a mentor and can begin your training.

If you change your mind before your training begins, we will issue you a full refund of any fees paid.
