About
The workshop is titled An Intergenerational Community and the Healing Practice of Composting. In it, you will learn about the philosophy of composting, including why it’s crucial in the desert Southwest. You will leave with an understanding of how a unique mentorship model works to build compost confidence. Instructors will be Master Composters Mara Flores, Yini Wang, and John Zarola.
The workshop is part of the 2026 NM Outdoor Learning Summit which will include various other workshops and activities. The summit is open to the public but there is a fee to attend and you must register. Cost is $50 if you register by August 26 and $75 after that. Hours given above (9 to 4) are for the entire summit day, not the composting workshop itself.
